From a first camp to a full-time student-athlete place: how Mouratoglou Academy Malaysia, GOLFZON Leadbetter Academy and LALIGA Academy Malaysia take a player forward on the Epsom College Malaysia campus.
The three academies train on the Epsom College Malaysia campus in Bandar Enstek, twenty minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Each runs its own coaching system, and all three share the school's boarding houses, Medical Room and Sanatorium, and fitness centre.
Coaching from Mouratoglou-certified professionals on 11 ITF-grade courts, including the only two indoor clay courts in Southeast Asia, with an individual plan for each player, technical and tactical work in small groups, and physical preparation.
PGA-certified coaching with TrackMan studio technology, a 30-bay floodlit driving range and short-game facilities, all on a five-acre golf complex on campus.
The LALIGA methodology with UEFA-level coaching on a FIFA-approved 4G pitch, using VO3 camera analytics to review each player's performance.
A camp of one to three weeks is how most players meet an academy. The player trains daily with the academy coaches, competes within the camp and lives on campus, and the coaches see enough to form a view of potential rather than a snapshot.
Before the camp ends the coaches tell the family plainly where the player stands, whether a full-time pathway makes sense, and what it would ask of the player and the family. A player who is not ready is told what to work on and invited back.
A player who is ready joins Epsom College Malaysia as a full-time boarder and trains with the academy daily around lessons. The school's admissions process runs alongside, and the Full-time boarding page describes it.
Full-time academy players compete through the year with the academy managing entries, travel and supervision. Results, rankings and video build the record that university programmes ask for, and the school's guidance team supports the applications.

Each full-time player has a written plan covering technique, tactics, physical development and competition, set by the coaches and reviewed regularly with the player and the family. Training groups are formed by ability and age rather than by year group.
Physical preparation and injury prevention are built into every programme, with support on site when a player is hurt. Sleep, nutrition and recovery are managed with the boarding house, so the plan does not stop when the session ends.
Each academy sets a competition calendar matched to the player's level, in Malaysia and the region, and plans it around the school's examination timetable. Travel and supervision for away competition are handled by the academy.
The most common destination is a university programme in the UK, the US, Australia or across Asia, with the player's competition record, video and coach references alongside their A Levels. The school's guidance team knows the sports application routes and supports each one.
A small number of players go on to professional or elite development programmes. The academies prepare for that possibility without promising it, and a player's schooling continues at full strength so that the alternative is always open.
Whatever the destination, a full-time academy player leaves with A Levels, the discipline of daily training, experience of competing away from home and a record of managing school and sport together. Universities and employers recognise all four.

High-performance training with match simulations, fitness and tactical feedback for serious development: 5 days of training plus competition.
The school offers boarding from Year 6 (age 10) through to Year 13, and the admissions team confirms which year groups have places. Younger players train inside a balanced school week; from Year 10 the programme can grow into a serious daily load for those who are ready.
No, but it is the most useful first step. The coaches see the player train daily for a week or more, and the player sees the campus and the house. Where a camp is not possible, an assessment can be arranged on campus or by video.
Full-time academy places are for students at Epsom College Malaysia, and families overseas board. Families within reach of Bandar Enstek can ask the admissions team about day and weekly boarding places.
The competition calendar is planned around the school's examination timetable, and the training load is reduced by agreement between tutor, coach and player before IGCSE and A Level examinations.
The school publishes one scholarship scheme: ECM Libra Foundation awards for academically gifted students from across ASEAN. It does not publish a sports scholarship, so ask the admissions team what, if anything, applies to your child before assuming an award.
Tell us the sport, the age and the level, and we will say which academy camp or assessment fits and when it runs.
Tell us the sport, your child's age and level, and our team will reply.
