Inside the camp
What your child gains
The LALIGA Scholarship Camp is the chance to open the doors to a brighter future, combining world-class football with first-class education. It is the gateway to securing academic and/or sporting scholarships at Epsom College in Malaysia and a place in the LALIGA Academy Malaysia Annual Programme.
Across the camp, players train with official LALIGA coaches, showcasing their skills, talent and determination in a professional environment that mirrors the standards of elite football.
Players also experience life at Epsom College, from its football pitches and sports halls to the swimming pool and boarding houses.
The camp concludes with evaluation and trial opportunities in front of LALIGA Academy Scouts and Epsom College representatives, giving players a platform to earn scholarships.
Coached by LALIGA Academy Malaysia
Academy coaches run the training, using the academy's own method. On the first morning, coaches set groups by age and level.
A written note from the coach
At the end, your child's coach writes down where they stand and what to work on next. If a full-time academy place makes sense, the coaches say so plainly. If not, they say what to work on.
A taste of British boarding
Your child lives in an Epsom College Malaysia boarding house, with house staff living in the house. It is the easiest way to find out if boarding school suits your child.

Questions parents ask
Is my child good enough?
All levels are welcome. Coaches place each player by age and level on the first morning.
Will I get feedback?
Yes. Your child's coach writes a note at the end: where your child stands and what to work on next.
Can this lead to a full-time place or a scholarship?
It can. Coaches tell you plainly whether a full-time pathway makes sense. A place or a scholarship is decided by Epsom College Malaysia admissions, not promised at camp.
What can it lead to?
Academic and/or sporting scholarships at Epsom College in Malaysia, and a place in the LALIGA Academy Malaysia Annual Programme, after evaluation and trials in front of LALIGA Academy Scouts and Epsom College representatives.
Is it residential?
Yes. It is a 5 day boarding camp, with check-in on the Sunday and check-out on the Friday evening.
What is the LALIGA methodology?
Four pillars: technical and coordination, tactical and cognitive, physical and conditional, and psychological and socio-affective, combined in real match scenarios.
Who are the coaches?
Diego Gutierrez Ramos, Technical Director and Head Coach, with 10+ years training players from 5 to 38 worldwide and 7+ years with LALIGA, and Ignacio Buendia Molina, Performance Coach, with 5+ years training players in Spain and 3+ years with LALIGA.
What happens after I book?
We email you, and your account lists the camper profile and forms to complete before camp.
