Football and school at Epsom College Malaysia

A full-time place at Epsom College Malaysia with daily training at LALIGA Academy Malaysia on the same campus: the LALIGA methodology, UEFA-level coaching and a FIFA-approved 4G pitch. Not a camp: an enrolment, and it starts with a conversation.

LALIGA Academy Malaysia, around the school day

The LALIGA methodology with UEFA-level football coaching on a FIFA-approved 4G pitch, using VO3 camera analytics to review each player's performance. An academy player's training is scheduled around lessons rather than after them, and the academy is on the same campus, so there is no travel between school and sport.

Tutors and coaches share progress, and the training load is reduced by agreement during examination seasons. Academy players compete in junior tournaments and leagues in Malaysia and the region, with the academy managing entries, travel and supervision. Results, rankings and match video build the sporting record that university programmes ask for.

The Scholarship Camp: the first step

The LALIGA Scholarship Camp is the chance to open the doors to a brighter future, combining world-class football with first-class education. The LALIGA Academy Malaysia brochure describes it as the gateway to securing academic and/or sporting scholarships at Epsom College in Malaysia and a place in the LALIGA Academy Malaysia Annual Programme.

Across five days of boarding, players aged 8 to 16 train with official LALIGA coaches and experience life at Epsom College, from its football pitches and sports halls to the swimming pool and boarding houses. The camp concludes with evaluation and trial opportunities in front of LALIGA Academy Scouts and Epsom College representatives.

The football camps page lists it with the other LALIGA camps. Ask us below about its next dates.

How it works, stage by stage

Stage 1: a camp

A camp is how most players meet the academy. The player trains daily with the academy coaches, competes within the camp and lives on campus, and the coaches see enough to form a view of potential rather than a snapshot.

Stage 2: assessment and an honest conversation

Before the camp ends the coaches tell the family plainly where the player stands, whether a full-time pathway makes sense, and what it would ask of the player and the family. A player who is not ready is told what to work on and invited back.

Stage 3: a full-time place

A player who is ready joins Epsom College Malaysia as a full-time boarder and trains with the academy daily around lessons. The school's admissions process runs alongside, and the admissions page describes it.

Stage 4: competition and beyond

Full-time academy players compete through the year with the academy managing entries, travel and supervision. Results, rankings and video build the record that university programmes ask for, and the school's guidance team supports the applications.

What parents ask

Is football and school a camp?

No. It is a full-time place at Epsom College Malaysia with daily training at LALIGA Academy Malaysia. It starts with an enquiry, and our team will reply with the next steps. A LALIGA camp is the usual first step, and the football camps page lists them.

Which ages can join full time?

The school offers boarding from Year 6 (age 10) through to Year 13, and the admissions team confirms which year groups have places. Younger players train inside a balanced school week; from Year 10 the programme can grow into a serious daily load for those who are ready.

Is a scholarship available?

The LALIGA brochure describes the Scholarship Camp as the gateway to academic and/or sporting scholarships at Epsom College in Malaysia, with evaluation and trials at the end of the camp. The school publishes one scholarship scheme: ECM Libra Foundation awards for academically gifted students from across ASEAN. It does not publish a sports scholarship, so ask the admissions team what, if anything, applies to your child before assuming an award.
